About the Artist

Charles M Williams

Artist of Intergenerational Connections

I am Charles M. Williams, an artist from Louisville, Kentucky, focused on creating acrylic paintings that emphasize intergenerational connections. Influenced by my African American family and mentors in Virginia, as well as my experience as a Vietnam War-era U.S. Army First Lieutenant and educator, I explore art through my paintings. Recently, I wrote and illustrated a children’s book about communication through 'signing', using digital platforms as the medium. My artwork appears in multiple collections, as I am continually motivated by the words of my high school English teacher: “We have never made a statue worthy of our dreams.”
